The 44th SICOT Orthopedic World Congress (OWC), hosted by the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Trauma (SICOT) and organized by the Serbian Orthopaedic Association (SOTA), will be held in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia from September 25th to 27th, 2024!

Hou Jianxi, President of Zhengzhou Renji Hospital and Executive Committee Member of SICOT International Orthopedic and Traumatology Society, was invited by Professor Marko Bumbasirevic (Royal Academician of Serbia), President of the conference, to send Dong Qiqiang, Vice President of Zhengzhou Renji Hospital, to represent Renji at the conference. This conference revolves around cutting-edge technologies of today and the future, attracting thousands of clinical doctors and researchers from around the world. The International Society of Orthopaedic and Traumatic Surgeons (SICOT) is one of the most authoritative international academic organizations in the field of orthopaedic and traumatic surgery worldwide. It was founded in Paris, France in 1929 and is currently headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. SICOT focuses on promoting the advancement of orthopedic orthopedics and trauma worldwide, improving medical standards, developing education and research, and promoting and encouraging the exchange of professional experience among its members. The World Orthopaedic Congress (OWC) hosted by SICOT is one of the most influential international events in the field of orthopedics worldwide, attracting over 3000 professionals from more than 100 countries every year.  

At the meeting, Dong Qiqiang, Vice President of Renji Hospital in Zhengzhou, delivered a keynote speech on behalf of Dr. Hou Jianxi titled "Treatment of severe limb trauma with multiple injuries". Dr. Dong explained the Renji plan to colleagues around the world from multiple perspectives, including the difficulty, challenges, latest technological progress, and how to improve the survival rate of limb replantation and promote functional recovery after limb replantation. This sparked active exchanges and in-depth discussions among the attending representatives.

As the first domestic tertiary trauma microsurgery hospital and the world record holder for successful and satisfactory functional recovery of 17 severed finger replantation surgeries, Renji has once again shared its technological innovation and academic achievements in the fields of trauma orthopedics and microsurgery with colleagues around the world through academic exchanges at this World Orthopedics Congress. It has been highly recognized by the attending representatives and has also learned international cutting-edge diagnosis and treatment technologies and concepts. We will take this opportunity to continuously improve the diagnosis and treatment level of microsurgery, trauma orthopedics, and orthopedic orthopedics, and make greater contributions to safeguarding the health of the people.
