Department Overview

The First Department of Orthopedics is a hospitallevel key department specializing in microsurgical trauma and orthopedics. Over more than two decades of development, the department has integrated advanced domestic and international technologies and research findings with extensive clinical to drive the rapid advancement of microsurgery and orthopedic care. Currently, the department operates 52 beds and is staffed by a highly qualified medical team, including two senior specialists and intermediate-level specialists.

In 2009, the department introduced the Russian Ilizarov minimally invasive distraction osteogenesis technique. To maintain clinical excellence, our medical have undergone advanced training at renowned specialized hospitals in Beijing, Shanghai, and Tianjin. The department is capable of performing a wide range of routine, complex, and precision orthopedic procedures,:

*   Replantation of severed fingers and toes

*   Reattachment of major limb amputations

*   Minimally invasive treatment for hand/foot trauma and traumatic

*   Correction of congenital hand and foot deformities in children

*   Limb and digit lengthening

*   Treatment of bone defects and non-union fractures

*   Correction limb deformities

*   Stepwise treatment for geriatric osteoarticular diseases

*   Correction of hallux valgus (bunions)

Through these capabilities, the department established a specialized development model characterized by "distinctive departmental expertise and individual professional specialization."

**Primary Clinical Indications**

The department specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of the following conditions

*   **Trauma & Replantation:** Hand and foot trauma, finger replantation, and major limb reattachment.

*   **Wound & Metabolic Care:** Wound reconstruction and diabetic foot management.

*   **Bone & Joint Reconstruction:** Chronic non-union or malunion of limb fractures, bone defects, and limb osteoarticular deform (including genu varum and genu valgum).

*   **Congenital & Developmental Deformities:** Limb/digit shortening, clubfoot (equinovarus), higharched foot deformities, congenital metatarsal/metacarpal shortening, pediatric hand/foot deformities, and pediatric hip dysplasia.

*   **Degenerative Corrective Orthopedics:** Geriatric osteoarticular diseases and hallux valgus (bunions).
